Snapped. Bridal style.

There are 4 months and 13 days until I get married.  What this means, essentially, is that I go through my days like a chicken with its head cut off – blindly, with a lot of chaos.  If it weren’t for my to-do list, I might lose it.  There’s just so much STUFF to do, and sometimes I wish that this wedding wasn’t so important to me.  God, I’d love to be the girl who says “oh, I don’t care, we’ll just get married on a beach somewhere, just the two of us.”  That would be lovely to think.

But alas, that’s not me, never was, never will be.  Instead, I’d prefer to have my family and very close friends there, to hug all of those people who mean so much to B and I, to dance to great music and eat delicious food, and really celebrate all of the triumphs we’ve shared together.  So I soldier on.  And then I go home and drink several glasses of wine.  Yum.

That’s about all I can pull together – coherently, at least – so let’s finish this up with a list, shall we?

• My 4th bridesmaid is giving me daily migraines.  She can’t pull her shit together, she’s inconsiderate, and I haven’t seen her in God only knows how long.  I’m tired of the unreturned phone calls, the unanswered emails, the rebuffed attempts to get together.  I give up.  See you on my wedding day!
• I can’t freaking find shoes!  How sad is that?  What I’m looking for (low heel – my fiance’ is only 5′10″ – satin or some other soft fabric, preferably in red or purple) is damn near impossible to find.  I’ve bought a few pairs and taken them home – only to have them be too tall or too uncomfortable after 5 minutes.  Return, return, return.  I hate the customer service desk.
• Ditto with lingerie.  I’ve got a speech for every store I visit (“What I’m looking for is anti-bridal:  Preferably in a fun color, strapless, possibly a corset, something to offer my man a little bit of a surprise when he goes to grab my garter?”) is always met with a blank stare, a puzzled expression, and a response that includes “what about white?”  I shake my head and sigh every.single.time.
• I need music.  STILL.  It’s so hard coming up with songs for certain events (ie: garter toss, introductions, etc.) and I’ve just had enough.  I’m taking a break on the music to focus on…
• Accessories!  I ordered my garters, but I’m still looking for a veil, hair comb, and earrings.  It was fun for the first week or so, but I hate the constant online shopping!  Shocker!

All I can think about is the post-wedding honeymoon.  God willing, we’ll be headed off to Mexico on Monday, November 16.  Cross your fingers, because after this, I’m going to need it.
